This set of 24 task cards presents problem solving activities for primary children. The directions for each activity are given at the top of each card. Cards 1-3 ask the student to fill the shapes in different ways without specifying the number of each type of block to use. This freedom of choice permits maximum exploration. Cards 4-24 present one to four problems per card, each restricting use to a specific set of blocks. In addition to solving these problems, students can be given full freedom of choice to come up with their own solutions using their own selection of blocks. In all cases, the challenge is to use the blocks to form the most pleasing design.
